Students who subscribe to the bmgt341-L listserv usually receive copies of each assignment as it is announced. Since this one was announced before students had a chance to subscribe, a copy of the assignment, due next Tuesday, appears here for everyone's permanent reference. ...mf
Blackboard Assignment #2 - Asg02-netid
The assignment is due on Tuesday, January 31, which means it can earn one full point for one minute after 11:59 p.m. on that day. Half credit for a late submission may be awarded for the 48 hours which follow that deadline.
THOUGH YOU HAVE NEARLY 2 WEEKS TO DO THIS BRIEF ASSIGNMENT, YOU SHOULD NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO ACCESS THE PREMIUM CONTENT AND RECORD YOUR ID AND PASSWORD WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT FOR FUTURE ASSIGNMENTS. YOU WILL WANT TO LEAVE TIME TO RESOLVE ANY DIFFICULTY YOU HAVE ACCESSING THE CONTENT OR POSTING YOUR ANSWER.
Complete Self-Assessment #1, Appreciating and Valuing Diversity, in the "student edition" of the Kinicki text's premium content site.
Select the DISCUSSION tab on the left column of our Blackboard class page, go to “full class discussion”, and then click on “create thread.” For a student whose net id is xx999999, the subject would read “Asg02-xx999999” with no spaces and no quotation marks.
Post your numeric score and discuss what it means. Then do the following exercise:
If you have ever experienced a situation in which someone’s lack of awareness or sensitivity to another’s differences created a problem in the workplace, tell the story of what happened. You may cast yourself as the insensitive one or as the person who suffered through someone else’s lack of regard. Discuss how the incident took place and exactly what might have been done to avoid the problem. (If you can’t think of such an actual event, you will have to invent one.)
This weblog (blog) is intended for the use of University at Albany students enrolled in Management 341. Postings are limited to copies of class-wide communications generated for students by the instructor and graduate assistants. These entries include Blackboard assignments, LISTSERV discussion list messages, and other items that pertain to course assignments and requirements.

Feel free to contact me by phone, email (fogelman@albany.edu), or in person during scheduled office hours--or most any other time.
